You run. You hunt. You decide.
Renegade is a fast, urban team event built around live pursuit, real-time pressure, and forced decisions.
It is not a race.
It is not navigation.
It is a hunt.
Launching from a city venue in Leeds, Renegade strips things back to movement, teamwork, and judgement under pressure.
Renegade is a team-only event.
Teams of 2, 4, or 6 only.
No solo entries.
No other team sizes.
At the start line, each team is split exactly in half:
Hunters
Hunted
Roles are assigned on the day and cannot be swapped.
All teams start from the same base location.
The Hunted are released first.
The Hunters are held back.
Head start: 15 minutes.
Live tracking is active from the moment the Hunted leave the start.
Maps
Hunted: provided with a map
Hunters: no map
Live Tracking
All participants are live-tracked throughout the event.
You can see:
Your teammates
The opposing half of your team
Seeing each other is part of the pressure.
There are three checkpoints, laid out as a rough triangle, with HQ/Base as one fixed point.
Total checkpoint distance (as the crow flies): 6 miles.
Expect each leg to be roughly 3 miles apart (as the crow flies).
“Crow flies” distances are straight-line measurements.
Your actual running distance will be longer depending on route choice.
The Hunted must:
Visit three set checkpoints
Return to base
Checkpoints must be visited in the set order.
No checkpoints can be skipped.
The Hunters must pursue the Hunted and close the gap.
No Ambushing Rule
To keep the hunt fair and active, Hunters are not permitted within a defined exclusion distance of:
Any checkpoint
The base location
This prevents waiting or camping.
Hunters must follow — not ambush.
Renegade is a closed, team-only challenge.
Outside assistance is not allowed.
This includes:
Friends or family scouting, waiting, or guiding
Receiving information from anyone not entered in your team
Help passed in person, by phone, or by message
You may only use:
Information gained by your own team
Your map (Hunted only)
Live tracking
Your own judgement
If you didn’t earn the information yourself, you can’t use it.
What Counts as “Captured”
A capture occurs when any member of the Hunted group comes within 10 feet (3 metres) of any Hunter.
No physical contact.
No tagging or touching.
No confrontation.
Once the 10-foot distance is breached:
The Hunted group is captured
The game ends immediately
Event Control decisions are final
If in doubt — you are caught.
Total event time: 5 hours.
The hunt ends when:
The Hunted group returns to the finish having completed all checkpoints
OR any Hunted member is captured
OR the 5-hour time limit expires
If the time limit expires before the Hunted return to the finish, the Hunted group is unsuccessful.
Renegade is:
Fast
Tactical
Urban
Team-driven
Mentally demanding
Renegade is not:
A race
Orienteering
A navigation challenge
A trail run
You will see your pursuers.
They will see you.
What you do next is the challenge.
LIVE GPS TRACKING
Renegade uses live GPS tracking to support safety, event control, and the overall experience.
Tracking is not BUT does provide a gameplay advantage although it is deliberately limited to preserve uncertainty.
