Amazing trip from being lost to working out where you are to confrontation.
Did the Drop in Edinburgh and it had it all every type of weather all types of terrain. Hills, cycleways, villages, and citys.
Paul, this is spot on. From being completely lost to working it out, then pushing through those moments of doubt and confrontation… that’s exactly what The Drop is built on. And Edinburgh doing what it does best, throwing every condition and terrain at you in a single outing. Hills, cycleways, villages, city streets… and a bit of everything in between. No map. No route. Just decisions under pressure. Proper effort getting it done, and even better to hear you’d recommend it to others. Hopefully we’ll see you back on the next one, ready for another deployment

A great event with a real sense of adventure!
Lovely drop off point with great scenery all round and plenty of potential routes. Got to see some really interesting places. Memorable race!
Matthew, this is what we like to hear. A proper sense of adventure, making your own calls and discovering places you’d never normally find, that’s exactly what The Drop is all about. Sounds like you made the most of that drop zone as well, plenty of options, plenty of decisions to make, and a few interesting finds along the way. No two routes ever the same. Glad it left a mark and even better that it’s one you’ll remember. Hopefully we’ll see you back on a future mission, ready to go again

Unique in so many ways - definitely a 'must do' event
Such a simple concept that delivers so much. You can reccy every possible route, or put your finger in the air on the day; you can run it at race pace, or walk it. A tech-free event is mindbending just on its own, never mind having to navigate. Brilliantly organised, and the rules and kit list really came into their own when we got heavy snow in April in Edinburgh! Thanks and well done, team.
Gareth, this is a cracking review. You’ve summed it up perfectly, simple concept, endless ways to take it on. Whether you plan it to the finest detail or just make it up as you go, it’s all about the decisions you make out there. That tech-free element catches a lot of people off guard as well. No safety net, just you, your team, and the route you choose. That’s where it gets interesting. And that April snow in Edinburgh… exactly why the kit list exists. British weather doing what it does best and keeping everyone honest. Really appreciate the kind words on the organisation, and massive respect for getting it done in those conditions. Hopefully we’ll see you back out there again soon, ready for another mission

Tough weather but a great experience
Most folk were running, so I was on my own walking the route. However, it was great fun and something I’d do again.
Eleanor, this is a great one. Tough conditions and still getting it done, that’s exactly the mindset The Drop rewards. And fair play for taking it on solo. Whether you’re running in a pack or walking your own line, it’s still the same challenge out there, just you, your decisions, and the route you choose. That weather in Edinburgh wasn’t pulling any punches either, which makes finishing it even more satisfying. Really glad you enjoyed it and even better to hear you’d do it again. Hopefully we’ll see you back on another deployment soon

Always a brilliant day out
Fun day, good challenge. Really unique. Hopefully you can make tracking secure enough that we can see everyone - it was fun as a spectator too.
Craig, love this. “Always a brilliant day out” is exactly what we’re aiming for, a proper challenge with a bit of everything thrown in. Glad you enjoyed the unique side of it as well, that’s what sets it apart. No two days ever the same. On the tracking, completely get it from a spectator point of view. It’s a fine balance for us, safety always comes first, which is why live tracking isn’t made public during the event. That said, we know how much people enjoy following it, so it’s something we’re always keeping under review. Appreciate you taking the time to leave this, and hopefully we’ll see you back out there again soon for another mission

Loved this event, completely unique.
I really enjoyed this and am still buzzing from it. I would have enjoyed it even more if it had been going from one rural point to another, ie, more opportunity to go off-road.
Thank you for creating this concept, I'll be back :)

Good event, different from the normal races / events.
Done 10 mile and 15 miles in Edinburgh. Edinburgh is an easy city to navigate as all roads lead to either end of Princess St. so once you hit city limit it’s a foot race to line. Might be worth looking at finish area or up distance by few miles. Over all I thinks it a great event .

Great event train for 50% more
Great event. First time I've done The Drop. For 10 miles train for 15 miles, for 15 miles train for 23. It is what it says on the tin. Get back to to the start point. Easy
